Methodology

Our calculator is a proprietary, rule-based heuristic model. It is not a lookup against official CDC, WHO, or national actuarial life tables — it starts from general population life expectancy averages and applies point-based adjustments informed by published research on the relative mortality impact of lifestyle and health factors.

  • Base Lifespan: A general population average life expectancy figure by biological sex.
  • Biometric Modifiers: BMI is calculated and applies a penalty for severe underweight or obesity brackets.
  • Lifestyle Factors: Smoking, alcohol consumption, and exercise frequency are the heaviest weighted variables. Smoking can subtract up to 10 years, while regular exercise can add up to 3.5 years.
  • Medical & Mental Health: Diagnosed conditions, blood pressure, stress levels, and sleep duration impact the final Health Score and Biological Age calculations.

Limitations: This model does not account for genetics, regional healthcare access, socioeconomic factors, or the complex interactions between conditions. The result is a statistical estimate and projection, not a prediction, guarantee, or diagnosis of any kind.
